Rediscovering Maillardville is an online gallery of historic photographs and recordings of early Coquitlam featuring people, places and events. This site is part of an ongoing project involving the Coquitlam Public Library, local historians and organizations; a project which will provide our community with access to its history. As this site grows, we hope to add more content about other historic areas of Coquitlam.
The images in Rediscovering Maillardville were very generously donated by local historian and Coquitlam Town Crier, Antonio G. Paré (1917-2008). Mr. Paré was also the author of several books on local history, including My Memoirs of le vieux (Old) Maillardville: It’s Founding People, Their Families, and Where They Lived, The Mansions on the Hill, My Granddad the Policeman, Emeri Paré, Coquitlam's First Chief of Police & Fire, 1913-1927, and The Village of Maillardville, 1910-1940s.
