Having trouble downloading audiobooks?

If you do not have a card with Coquitlam Public Library's name on it, you need to choose the library whose name appears on your card when downloading audio and eBooks.  You can still use your card from another library (Fraser Valley, Port Moody, Burnaby, etc.) to check out books and use internet stations, if it has been entered into our system.  You will not be able to borrow eBooks and audiobooks from Vancouver Public Library or Burnaby Public Library unless you have an address in those communities and a valid library card from those libraries.

Are you downloading audiobooks to an iPod?

If you are downloading WMA files and converting them, you need to have iTunes 9.1 or higher on your computer.  If you get an error message stating that the 'format of this title is not compatible' with your device, you need to enable the iTunes setting 'Manually manage music…'  To enable it:

Connect your device to your computer.
If it does not launch automatically, open iTunes (v9.1 or newer).
In iTunes, locate your device in the left vertical navigation panel (under heading 'DEVICES'), and click your device.
The 'Summary' screen is displayed.
If it is not already checked, place a checkmark next to option 'Manually manage music…'.
Click the 'Apply' button.
The iTunes 'Summary' screen refreshes, and your changes are saved.
If desired, close iTunes.
