Over its 40 years of existence, the Coquitlam Public Library has built a strong reputation for commitment to the community. We have achieved this by providing many services to our patrons, meeting the changing needs of a diverse society and the needs of a growing community.
We have evolved from a small library located in Centennial High School in 1969, to small Ridgeway and Cottonwood locations in 1978, adding the third Lincoln branch in 1981. We outgrew our small branches and amalgamated the Ridgeway and Cottonwood branches into the Poirier Branch in 1989. Then in 1998, we moved our small Lincoln branch to its current City Centre location in Coquitlam City Hall.
