The library provides free pick-up and delivery of books, audiobooks and magazines for individual Coquitlam residents who are temporarily or permanently homebound in private homes or in care centres. Patrons on the Homebound Services Program may place reserves on materials of their choice or allow the Community Services Librarian to select materials for them.  A profile of reading interests and a list of materials read or desired is kept for each Homebound patron. This information is confidential and available only to Homebound Services staff.

Low Vision Resources

The library offers the following resources for people with impaired vision:

Large Print Materials

Many popular fiction and non-fiction titles are available in large print.  We attempt to purchase new and bestseller large print books published simultaneously with the regular print. 

Audiobook Collection

The Poirier Branch has a collection of audiobooks on cassette tapes, Daisy Book format and MP3, available to users who are visually or physically challenged and cannot read regular print material. This collection is funded in conjunction with Public Library InterLINK, and users must sign an eligibility form to use this collection.  Daisy Books and MP3 format books can be played on Daisy Players, personal computers and DVD players.  A second collection of books on tape and CD is available to the general public at both branches.

Deposit Collections

The library invites care centres and nursing homes to take advantage of our Deposit Collection Service.
